Well, at least it's attempting to visit Peter back again. And the perspective of this Harbinger of Doom - and put into Christine's body - pretty powerful. A sleek idea to encounter him this way - passively - and bring him into the universe like this. The story is much better than the later Troublemakers issues - and maybe that's why I am given pause. Many of the comics - that I am expecting to be better - like this one - are the better ones in making the effort to transition the entire of the line back over. She seems to be the most compelling character - and frankly, I am a little upset that the comic ALREADY is trying to bring back Blur - who died JUST last issue.
That's his first shot?
I have made no secret about the fact that I have always loved Havok. Even owning his first appearance was a cool opportunity - and I will always remember it - even if it's just a rag copy. But green dude? The story is okay - but I found myself wishing for the fast forward button to take me into the moments of the old X-Men confronting Havok in the late nineties issues - or even some of the upcoming Sixties. So this one isn't all I had cracked it up to be. The Pharoah sounds like just some half-nosed attempt at creating a villain to cast away when he's finally finished, too. Seeing Alex's power develop was cool - but seeing the reaction? Just a little more than far-fetched. The Angel origin story was good - and forward thinking. First - nice to see the old Avenging Angel costume. AND nice to see that someone was doing something with powers before really running into the X-Men. And also nice to see that he didn't just jump in - and that the references to the Avengers - BEFORE the Avengers, too. Not a bad start.
