And Valiant, and the bi-monthly, and just about every part of this. But this issue felt a little more conjoined to the Valiant Universe - or perhaps the old one. I liked the confrontation between Ismael and Nettie. Did not like the Aric full revelations. But seeing her cure Ishmael - and knowing that he had no other options - but to let Jack live - and be in Nettie's death debt - that was nice. Most certainly it will come around to bite him. The Blister stuff - great for covers - and one-liners. But as far as plot advancement goes... Not much there, really. Try someone else, please.
Cringe at the mention of the name Plantman, eh? Mission accomplished. This cover - I always loved it. But the story within leaves much to be desired. The concept is great - uniting a bunch of slipshod - and terrible villains. Excellent idea. But these villains are just a little - well - a LOT too hokey to survive here. I DID like each villain being paired against a hypothetical best match. That each might be successful. And I also liked that a few of the villains actually were losing when Cyclops jumped over his own villain - the unicorn - yes... And started battling the eel instead. But the issue - although vaulting ahead - still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
