Everything in this comic isn't bad. It certainly has made me sort of flip a bit on my ability to see the whole tied in universe. I guess that I just don't have much of a knack to see everything inside of a science fiction universe that seems so different from reality. And it really isn't the ability to execute - it's the level of green and strange beasts of made of plasm and phlegm that make the least amount of sense. The quick changes from ordinary day tp bouncing through a mouth of teeth that makes the comic most jarring for me. I don't have a real issue with all of the Dark Dominion either - and that seems fairly similar - but more fantastic.
I have liked so far the change back into normal lives. That seems to make some sense here - and I also liked how nearly every character's home life is so drastically different. Mrs. J feels almost like she has to hide it - while others move through downright acceptance to denial of happening. That would probably happen based around previous life experiences. But the appearance of Hooky inside of the comic signalled that the time in pleasant life experience had to change. This is a naked cherub riding on top of a lizard that is able to move through dimensions at will. Lockjaw, I buy. This kid - not especially.
Perhaps it is the fish out of water thing that I am having the most trouble with. Not certain if it is the drastic change - or the fact that these five individuals are able to switch Lorca's position so drastically that they change every part of this world over into something more loving and helpful - even with Sueraceen's complete displeasure at what he has become.\
This has been a disappointment to me. I guess that I like the stroy when there are just the connections. And even the Glimmer appearance at the end of this story hasn't done too much for me enjoying the new direction of the story. It just seems far too heavy with explanation and information - sort of like a sixties comic trying to explain physics using hokey science. It just doesn't fit. And quite strangely, goes well in the other comic, Dark Dominion.
I think that I like Chasm appearing here. He could offer an interesting possible counterpoint to the world of Plasm - crossing into the quite strange - but it needs to be more completely filled still.
Just not with more details.
