Strange how this one went. Started out better than I thought, and closed with a bit of a whimper. I liked that it paralleled the whole video game theme, but without any real knowledge of how the game was played - nearly all of the moves - passes and suggestions - had to be interplayed into the dialogue. If the line had interspersed the connections running through the comic - it would have been much easier to follow along. As it was, it wasn't terrible - but so many of the gags might have been better geared to an audience that had held them. I fought him first - just like in the game. Or, people are missing all around the area - wonder if.... Just a bad re-invention geared wrongly.
A great idea for a battle
Pitting Thor against Silver Surfer was an excellent idea - even if I really have no love for Thor - and not much for Silver Surfer, either. At least they are cut from the similar level - and have parity. But of course, putting Loki in the mix made for a change of things. A God with powers to control and implement change - or manipulate rather - made for a compelling story. But I wish that more of it was bound within the lines of the story - and less on the battles of physicality. Explain more through the changes of what is happening. HOW dies Loki put his powers in the Surfer's body? WHY is he able to get beyond the boundary? What will happen if he defeats Thor - and so on. Those sections - even moderately explained - could have really added to the story element. The supplemental story is called Tim Boo Ba. Do I need to go on?
