This was a welcome back. I have made no hiding of the fact that I always loved Quantum & Woody. Appreciated as the best part of the Acclaim series - and one of the few newer properties - based on the earlier funny Archer & Armstrong stuff. So ecstatic to see the return of Priest - especially as he has lost his ways... Anyone ever try read his convoluted blogging mess? Made the mistake once of hopping on it from a school computer. WOW! Anyway - the comic brings back much of the old charm of his writing. Including the great headings, and bouncing backward and forward through time. I loved so much of the old Priest stuff that I headed out and bought every piece of Priest writing I could possibly find - even the REALLY painful stuff. There is some junk out there. But the Black Panther - along with the QW stuff are some fine reads. I know that they stretch the limit of most tolerant Valiant readers, and that may be why the attention is so strange. From the industry, and nearly hated by regular readers. I will attempt to go into the cast. The comic does a damned good job of really embracing the forward and back flashing - with a strong tip of the cap to the returning reader. Even if most of it comes from the first issue. It also leans into some of the other stuff. Like it so far - but not much yet. Letcha know next month.
