This arc of Quantum & Woody has not been my favorite of the issues - perhaps I liked it even less than I liked the post-resurrection run at the end of the Acclaim stuff. And while I haven't remembered loving that - I haven't remembered hating it, either. This one, I remembered a lot of hate. At least, though, in this issue, it seemed more balanced with some laughs going into this comic. The covers were well done - even the slightly messed up issue seven - below - onward. The art still sucks. I hate it. And that may be much too harsh a way to put it - but I just don't get it at all. I didn't think it was stylized so much as it looked unprofessional. Perhaps this worked with something - but this isn't it. Now, the dialogue was a bit better. And the story was good, too. I even chuckled a few times throughout my read - and that may be saying something. I also liked the Woody getting called a hero going to his own head. And the bit more than enthusiastic response afterward. And good to see a little background on what made Eric - quit - out of the military, too. But after then - making the man enjoy it - crossed over the line. Too much of a joke at expense, there. Woody's charging back into the fray - well done, too. While the story ends too abruptly - and what is up with her art on Goat 0? - it DOES FINALLY end. Be thankful for that. Just don't know why it was the second arc. This felt more like a throw away. Sort of like when Secret Weapons crossed over with Bloodshot at the end.
