Not in a best of time way, certainly. But Shadowman had done such a wretched job of consistency - publishing two of the best Valiant comics, and many of the worst - I hadn't counted this out - even with it being at best a tertiary character to the line and comic. The comic was fair - anyone else feel the strong Master Darque in Acclaim level connection in the middle, there? I felt like the mid section was rushed. Almost like we needed to live more with her punk phase to feel more for the losses at the end - and her confrontation. But okay. Finally, let loose from these zero issues. It's overwhelming!
False hopes
So much happening in this comic. Really hard to keep straight how much is happening, and all of the references. The election close-down, the references to topical - Christmas - the rectifying of the team, the double-cross, a nd snake intro of the non-hero - along with attempts to continue the story. It's trying to juggle too much, and unable to keep track of everything. It doesn't fail at everything, just loses too much focus. Really, I liked this more than a few of the issues lately. It has been tough reading, knowing that the comic is coming to an end. Dave reaches out again, and is successful in bridging the gap, but for how long, really?
