Welcome to the Malev Wars, kid. Here's where Magnus comes back from the dead - metaphorically, of course. This issue starts with a beautiful one-shot - stunning, then a two-page spread. This brings us BACK into the greatest parts of Magnus - the defense of and attack on robots. Loved. The darkness keeps increasing as the new emperor relates the plans, brushes up on history, and launches the attack on earth (North Am) all at the same time. Of course, we flash back to the Goph levels - certainly where the story will connect around to, again. All in all, this story acknowledges the garbage sold as Magnus for the last year, and disconnects. Even in much of the promo items, it says this should be called a new number one issue. Loved.
Of all of the things.
Great cover. The end. I wish that I could end the review here. Most of this mess is just down right silly. I tend to love these characters, but many of these stories were downright terrible. Dr. Doom helps three villains escape, give them an experimental drug, and they become minor soldiers? Coincidentally able to enhance powers that could all offset each of the powers of the FF? Gimme a break. Don't get em wrong. I love the characters. Just the stories needed some serious assistance.
