So Jack's been driving around the US - not really slowing down for conversation at all. He finally makes it to New York, and in about ten minutes, our investigators (to be shown in an upcoming issue) figure out that Jack MUST be Shadowman.
Well, duh!
The fights are cool ones, Jack trying to beat out the drug dealers. I love in this book that Jack is just some crazed fool who seems to not be able to have problems at night. Sorta, "What if Longshot wsn't such a lame character." The bike getting hijacked, and eventually wrecked, by Sandria is a great cherry to the episode. Come back, Jack!
Time for the greatest foe
The issue starts to make itself much more hardened right from the start. Owl's associate, an accountant, walks in front of a car and kills himself. Yikes. The book even shows his bloodied body at the beginning. Big kudos for not shying away from that at all. It's starting to turn. Gotta say, the book has come a ways. It's reflecting a lot of the changes that Marvel is pretty quickly taking over many of the books. Owl has potential, too. He's raw at the beginning. Really raw. Of course, he's around years later.
