Nearly every comic I read, I feel like the great ones all have the same thing in common. Tremendous amounts of heart. It really doesn't matter where or when the comics have action, conflict, or appearances. Take for example this one. Completely enjoyable - and probably had a unique ability to reach into me. Both of these characters were sideline features in most of the Bloodshot USA - as well as the last Bloodshot Reborn features. Here, the story shifts them to the center - and tells both stories efficiently, without rushing either one. It does begin with the slightly clumsy historical retelling of the history - but them is important to the development of both men's lives as the story continues. Refreshing glimpses - and I gotta say - the closing moments of the father's life hit me right in the center of my heart. I also liked that the story didn't make too much of what couldn't happen. Seeing that the wife died made a very differing impact. I Liked that she was dead - and could feel the change from her loss - not losing her again. Great story.
