Wow. I love this run. The story is fine. Frankly - it isn't so great outside of what it's TRYING to do. And what it's trying to do is quite impressive. And needs recognition just for that. The ability to tell a transcending story following through all of the story - and giving this back bone of this universe... That's impressive on itself. But then, the comic takes the giant leap forward and pays this beautiful homage to some of the greats of the era. Most certainly it's colored to love segments and sections of comic history - and here's Kubert's love. And deservedly. This is a beauty of a story. I loved it. Nice following. And mysterious. Excellent. Haven't read a lot of Kubert - but he's a delicious tale here.
And then, a man joins.
This one was a pretty cool story. I know that I don't normally like the retro-fit stories, but this one seemed to really feel organic - almost as if it had been planned from the start to have the Vision be patterned after the Wonder Man scan. Add that to the Ultron origin - insignificant at this point, but much more important later - and this is a great comic. It also follows my favorite type of story - the character development - almost in favor of any real fighting and bashing. Not that a little smacking something upside the head isn't fun or important now and then - these comics are made for that. But the comic really builds it up. And while the last panel is certainly poignant, I wanted more of a strong pull at the heart. It was fine. I just wished for a bunch more.
