It puts a new spin on the character of Turok . A real reboot. And it needed to flip over. It had a mess on its hands. And this one brought a very different flavor to the comic. Where Ninjak failed, this one succeeded. I liked it a bunch. It gave full reverence to the old Turok - the Native American stronghold. It also brought under its folds the perspective of the dinosaur hunter and the son of stone, too. But also, it brought a new perspective. It confronted the changes in the society - and where so many Native societies are facing, too. It felt real. And rich, and interesting. While the reboot may have been necessary for its survival, I get the bad feeling that the changes here probably pushed many people away, too. Where Ninkak failed, this one didn't. Fabe knew what he was doing, here. The only part I did NOT like was the helper dinos. So far, that seemed out of place. Understandable, but for crying out loud. Look at the dino in glasses down there.
Even THIS would have been better as 50.
This was a fair comic. I didn't hate it, but it was a lesser piece compared to many of the comics lately. It WAS nice to see many of those old Avengers jumping around in the comic again. The Collector was WAY too big, and defeated WAY too quickly. Really? THAT easy to beat the guy? The 'cure' for Goliath may have been much too convenient, but it is good to see him back in the good light again. Even though it will be short-lived. The Golden Age of the Avengers writing is quickly approaching - next issue is the Grim Reaper, and that leads to Vision. Then comes Yellowjacket, and we are linking over to the future. Good things are coming - but most of this isn't that great yet.
