I hated these characters the first time around, and now they really play up their connection to Master Darque. They still stink. Badly. Sorta a silly way to look at a villain - but they story - for all of its terribleness, does have a few great lines. And again half naked women. What are the artists targetting? Seven year olds? The reference to Bobby Brady finding the idol is almost worth the price of admission on this comic. ALMOST. Really, if Dr. Solar fights ANYTHING less than world changing things, it's pretty darned dull, and this comic fits that profile almost exactly. UN-memorable. Don't trace down this line again.
Molty?
Spider-Man's taunts are lowered to calling this guy Molty? And that's considered some kind of taunt now? Ugh. But the issue isn't a terrible one. Of course, the era over-used the rubber mask to disguise someone WAY over the top. Thank goodness that seems now to be a bygone era thing. The storytelling, though, has really taken some serious turns for the better. The panels are excellent. The turns of the fight are really starting to have a modern feel, and I can see the changes in the book again. Of course Spidey always seemed to be a bit ahead of the curve on this. I also liked a bit of the real-world happenings and consequences going through the book. Bye-bye Ned and Betty!
Oh, please.
SOLAR is horrendous. And Spidey isn't. Not much else I can say.
