This is a book that has seen a bunch of hype. Not certain how strange it is to really launch the preview or promo SO close to its actual launch date - and even on the backs of so many other previews within other books and pages. It is a departure for the story and character - and reminds me quite a bit of the old set within the first official run - within the first X-O Manowar 8-10. The barbarian line in that run was not much more than a quick dalliance back to the past - and Aric relatively destroying most of his own past, too. The book is rife already with anticpiation. Great build in its only scant pages. Nice work on the setup. I also loved the change over inside of the comic - and the suggestion that the story will relatively quickly build - on only three issues. I like that MUCH better than the hyper-arch following just the few four issue pattern. Cool to include the titles, too. From soldier to general to emperor. Even nice that they included the one issue interlude, too. Too much reliance on jumping from big story to big story lately. This one feels like I am gonna like it already. Cool concept to jump away from the shared universe and re-establish much inside the world.
