This has been painful. A tough night of reads. This, again, is a bad issue. Devoid of any sense of heart. And through these books - I see they wanted to cancel Bloodshot - one of the brightest spots - after Q & W, of course. Man, is that terrible. I can't believe how much worse this set of comics has become. It's desperately cartoonish - and although I liked the fact that they didn't let anyone off the hook in the whole Teen sex issue - this one kept that thing lingering along, too... It just had no real sense of story - or heart. Just pursuit of chocolate milk.
BORING!
This thing stinks.
A few weeks ago, a colleague mentioned to me how bad the Silver Age comics are - and how much he could never EVER read as much of the Silver Age as I had been reading. I brushed him aside somewhat - because much of what I had been reading lately had been decent. In a flurry of trying to get caught up - I had been reading a decent run at a few series. This one, however, is garbage. Hot garbage. The book has been in flux for a while - doing a few decent things - and putting them against downright bad ones. This is the bad ones. Blastaar brought through a portal to attack these X-Men? And who in the world is poorly attempting to draw them. They look like Play-Doh faces brought through by five year olds. The forward advancement was brought to a grinding halt this day. I actually stopped when reading Beast's origin to wonder, "Did I see Angel's origin already?" Then, they covered it at the end. Not certain entirely WHY it was changed that way, but... At least it was coverered somewhat.
