This issue brings back the continuity I was complaining about last issue, kids. Nice to see someone listening to me ;). The issue is a good one - but agin filled with holes. I liked the shift of scenery here - off to another place that the Malevs will eventually need to conquer. Of course, if I was in charge, I probably would have started here, then gone elsewhere - but no worries. The book's good. Christmas is sort of a backdrop to the story - I know that many of Valiant's other titles are celebrating this month, but it's just details in this book. G3 starts to play a role in this book. Frankly, I am just excited that the line started reading the other comics around it.
Welcome, FRIGHTFUL four.
During this issue, I actually had a conversation with a colleague about how bad this early era of Silver Age comics are. In one year, FF will publish the coming of Galactus, one of the best FF stories. It cannot get here soon enough. A villain named Paste Pot Pete is enough to turn the stomach of nearly every comic fan. For real. The wizard has anti-gravity discs that decrease weight. Ugh. This issue does introduce Medusa, one of my fave characters in the Marvel Pantheon - and she's good here - but treated with speculation. "Ohh... A girl!" From Reed and Sue. All things will end, right?
