I had seen pictures of it - but really had NO idea that the comic really had any kind of impact on any part or portion of the comics industry. Of course, it doesn't. It's little more than promotional material in the form of a comic book. In fact, had it been slightly differently sized or shaped - or made into an article, it would be a past that few even knew about. The book does a nice job really setting forth much of the new Valiant and Acclaim universe - and I gotta hand it to old Fabian. The guy had a serious plan, and an idea of where to go with a new plan. It just happened WAY too quickly. If THIS had been the new VEI, it might have made it.
Man, do I ever hate this cover.
But the story inside the piece is a darned good one. Even if it does really revolve around battling ants. It takes a few liberties - but really changes the characters - reincorporating Pym's control over the ants again and showing a bit of what can or might be helpful at times to battles. I gotta say that I also really like the isolated storylines when only one or two characters work out and battle a foe. This one is a good one. Also like the fact that the villainous nature of the villain isn't really the battle of fisticuffs - but one of scenario. While I am not a fan of the James Bond villain type of dropping someone in a well - or trap - instead of killing them, it works here.
