This one has a lot in touch with all of the greatness of the comic over the last few months. It is simple, elegant, and character driven. We follow a slowly changing character through a life-altering event. He modifies himself, but only slightly. We see through his eyes. What is great about this issue is that it really shows us both sides of SOLAR and compliments him with the glimpses of the Destroyer on the other side of him and the galaxy. It gives us a feel for his darker side, and why that part left, plus why it needs to act in its manner. The issue is simple, but I also got a little bit of a feeling that SOLAR was becoming a wuss - and his character was becoming dated within the scope of this universe.
Retrospective
A cool idea for a story - and strange that both this comic and SOLAR are both exploring the other side of being a hero. The Spider-Man comic touted - a strange issue - and it was. Spidey is facing problems - and hiding all over the city. He gets inspired from Flash - one of the few Spider-Man supporters, and from Aunt May. Excellent look. Funny that SOLAR is becoming dated within his universe, while Spider-Man is reaching a solidifying part of his. Heroes CAN fail. DO face problems. HAVE doubt. This ish is a precursor to the later Spider-Man 50 issue, and not a bad run.
